About Course

Aim: The aim of this module is to introduce educators to the concept of the ENTREHUBS Value Co-Creation Hubs (VCHs), and equip them with knowledge, skills and tools to design and implement a Value Co-Creation Hub as part of their curriculum.

Learning Objectives: The learning objectives of this module are to:

introduce educators and trainers to the concept of Value Co-Creation Hubs.

equip educators and trainers with the knowledge and tools to run a Value Co-Creation Hub within their settings.

provide step-by-step guidelines on how to design and implement a Value Co-Creation Hub within their settings.

encourage the infusion of Entrepreneurship Education (EE) across different disciplines, through participatory, action-oriented and value-creation approaches.

facilitate connections between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and stakeholders of the business sector.

Course Content

Section 1 – The concept of ENTRHEHUBS VCH and its core approaches
Τhe concept of ENTREHUBS Value Co-Creation Hub encompasses three general approaches 1) co-creation of new educational material, 2) application of co-teaching methods to foster a collaborative model in testing of any co-created material or activity, and 3) application of design thinking, with the active involvement of students from different disciplines in the entrepreneurship sector. Central to this process is the role of representatives of the business sector, who actively participate in the design, co-creation and evaluation of the educational material, serving as an interface between Higher Education and business industry. The synthesis, testing and evaluation of co-developed material and all accompanied activities reflect the project’s values (presented in the “Introduction: Few words about ENTREHUBS project”) underpinning its overall co-creative philosophy in all phases of this participatory process.

Section 3 – Key actors in the ENTREHUBS VCH
The ENTREHUBS Value Co-Creation Hub brings together both academic and business industry stakeholders, such as educators, trainers, students, practitioners, business owners, entrepreneurs, employees, trade unions, social enterprises, to encourage a participatory process towards the co-creation and testing of educational material. They all participate equally in co-creation, testing and evaluation of any new educational intervention or tangible outcome of their collaboration. However, in some phases, such as in the application of co-teaching methodologies, the key role in the organization and implementation of such methods may be taken over by specific groups, such as educators and trainers. Business industry stakeholders can still act as co-instructors and/ or mentors of students throughout the different phases of the educational process. Respectively, in the main implementation phase of the VCHs, students have a prominent and more leading role, as they can collaborate, interact and receive feedback or mentoring directly from stakeholders involved in the business industry. During this phase, the educators’ and trainers’ role is mainly supportive, so as to provide extra ideas and guidance, when needed, to the main target group (students) and encourage them to leverage the impact of the envisaged outcomes, in relation with creating value (social, cultural or economic) for others, and achieving academic progress for themselves.
