Introduction

Entrepreneurship is increasingly recognized as a vital competence in today’s rapidly changing world, especially within the context of Higher Education. The European Entrepreneurship Competence Framework (EntreComp) provides a comprehensive model for understanding and developing these competences, defining the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that make an individual more entrepreneurial. This module, "Value Creation through Three EntreComp Key Areas," aims to equip students with a deep understanding of how to create value by leveraging three key areas of the EntreComp Framework: "Ideas & Opportunities," "Resources," and "Into Action."

The module begins by providing a concise overview of the EntreComp framework, highlighting its significance in fostering entrepreneurial mindsets. It then explores the three key areas essential for value creation: generating ideas and opportunities, understanding and mobilizing resources, and translating ideas into concrete actions. In addition to these areas, the module addresses critical aspects such as ethical and sustainable thinking, mobilizing others, and learning through experience—components that enhance entrepreneurial effectiveness and ensure socially responsible practices.

By engaging with this module, educators – even from non-business-oriented faculties – will not only develop a theoretical understanding of entrepreneurship but will also gain practical skills to help their students identify and seize opportunities, manage resources efficiently, and implement ideas effectively. Ultimately, the module fosters an entrepreneurial spirit, encouraging educators to develop entrepreneurial thinking, which means to think innovatively, act ethically, and collaborate meaningfully in diverse contexts. Through experiential learning and interactive tools, this module prepares educators to become proactive, resilient, and responsible entrepreneurs in their personal, academic, and professional lives.
